Uschguli ist bekannt für seine Wehrtürme und der Ortsteil Tschaschaschi ist seit 1996 Teil des UNESCO-Welterbes, in der Sowjetunion war es bereits seit 1971 als Uschguli-Tschaschaschi-Museum geschützt. Neben den typischen swanetischen Wehrtürmen existieren verschiedene religiöse Bauwerke, wie eine Kapelle aus dem 12. Jahrhundert. Damit verschafft die Region Ober-Swanetien im Norden Georgiens mit dem Ortsteil Tschaschaschi-Georgien einen der drei für die Touristik-Industrie attraktiven Einträge auf der Welterbeliste. Uschguli liegt auf einer mittleren Höhe von ungefähr 2150 m im Großen Kaukasus
Ushguli is known for its fortified towers and the district of Chashashi has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1996; in the Soviet Union it had already been protected since 1971 as the Ushguli-Chashashi Museum. In addition to the typical Swanetian fortified towers, there are various religious buildings, such as a chapel from the 12th century. Thus the region of Upper Svanetia in the north of Georgia, with the district of Chashashi-Georgia one of the three attractive entries on the World Heritage List for the tourism industry. Ushguli is situated at an average altitude of about 2150 m in the Great Caucasus
